Andy Warton

Andy joined the Australian Federal Police (AFP) in 1995 as a community police officer and criminal investigator in Australia, with a particular focus on multi-national and internal investigations. During his time with the AFP, Andy was Chief Investigating Officer for the international SIEV-X people smuggling investigation involving the death of over 350 people and the conviction of two international people smugglers.


Andy also served in several overseas senior leadership positions with the AFP in Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. Andy served as Commander of the Samoa-Australia Police Partnership, as Commander of the Northern Territory Emergency Response, and as Manager of the AFP in the Northern Territory. These experiences involved dealing with conflict, managing people and relationships and providing large-scale organizational leadership.

 

Andy has been a CII member since 2018 and is the founder and Managing Director of Warton Strategic, a workplace investigation and conflict resolution company, based in Darwin and serving Northern Australia.
